Often a bridesmaid…

You look beautiful. You’re all dressed up, got your hair and make-up just so, everyone one will be looking at you… but no.

Books. So many books.  I know a lot of authors feel like they’re ‘often a bridesmaid, never a bride’ as they watch sales go out of control for something that isn’t them. It can be hard, it can be difficult to be happy for other people, it can be tiresome.

You don’t need to hear that everyone’s been there.  You don’t need to hear it will be your turn one day.  You don’t need to hear that it’s not up to you what people like. You don’t need to hear that you should probably change yourself. You don’t need to be told to get over it.  You don’t need to be told it’s your own fault for not writing what people like / marketing yourself better / spending more money on elements. No. Right now, you just need to hear this.

You’re frustrated. I acknowledge your frustration.
